Rick Chaves practices in the areas of construction law and construction litigation. He has litigated and arbitrated several complex construction cases involving lien law and bond disputes, construction defects, A. I. A. contract documents, and CGL insurance coverage, and has authored articles and lectured on those issues.
Mr. Chaves received both his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and his Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Florida. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997, the Southern and Northern District of Florida in 1999, and is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He was also a member of the Construction Law CLE Committee for the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Mr. Chaves is a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer and is AV Peer Review Rated.
During college, Mr. Chaves served six years with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves in both West Palm Beach and Tampa. Fluent in Spanish, he is interested in Gator sports as well as U.S. and international soccer, and enjoys traveling and cooking.
