The Firm's Commercial Litigation Department handles the broadest range of legal issues of any of the Firm's departments. In addition to providing consultation, research and litigation support to other lawyers in the Firm and their clients, the Commercial Litigation Department regularly represents clients in the following areas:
Real Estate: In disputes arising from the purchase or sale, leasing or management of real property; title defects; boundary disputes; easements (express, prescriptive and "of necessity"); mortgage disputes, foreclosures and loan workouts.
Governmental/Land Use: We represent landowners, local governments and affected third parties in disputes arising from Comprehensive Planning, traffic concurrency, zoning, platting, site planning, code enforcement and the operation of governmental agencies.
Business Entities: We represent corporations, partnerships (both general and limited) and limited liability companies as well as shareholders, partners and members of those entities in disputes arising from the formation, capitalization and operation of the entity; in corporate, partnership or limited liability company buy-out agreements; trade secrets; minority ownership rights; and the enforcement and defense of non-competition agreements.
Miscellaneous: We also represent parties in claims under the Florida Unfair Deceptive Trade Practice Act; business torts; civil theft; civil RICO claims; fraudulent conveyances; and, accounting and legal malpractice.
